Here we are, launching into the Canada Day weekend! Local celebrations are happening all over the region.

Port Hardy:
Carrot Park, 11:30 AM – 3 PM
The ceremony will begin at 12 PM – be there for great community activities in the park, and a fire department show and coast guard tour!
Free popcorn, fly a Kite booth: build and fly a kite, watermelon, hot chocolate, cookies, face painting, glitter tattoos, magic show, literacy bus.

Port McNeill:
Celebrations begin at 10:30 AM in Port McNeill with a parade from the Community Hall to the harbour front where the flag raising with take place at 11 AM. The Port McNeill Airport Society will be offering flights for kids at the Port McNeill Airport!

Port Alice:
10:30 AM Pancake Breakfast by donation, at Community Centre
12:00 PM Parade
12:30 PM Cake & Coffee served in Community Centre
Activities at Lions Park will commence following the parade:
Lions Beer Gardens OPEN 2:00-7:00pm 2:00 PM Bouncerama, face-painting, and more!
3:00 PM Kids Races & Games
4:30 PM FREE Salmon Barbeque Dinner is served
DUSK Firework Display

Sointula:
Canada Day Sailing Regatta!

Here is the ‘Ice9″ from Alert Bay, in the 2017 Sointula regatta. As you can see, there is no wind, but Declan and his crew of stowaways managed to come in 3rd! What a race, what a day!
