Quatsino
First settled in the late 1890’s, Quatsino is one of the Vancouver Island North’s earliest settlements.
At one time, when all travel was by boat, Quatsino was the hub of the area. Today the hamlet is still a boat-access community, and around 75 people enjoy the beauty and pristine beauty of the “wild side” of Vancouver Island. Located about 15 minutes by boat from Coal Harbour, the community has its own elementary school and post office. There are several special places to visit locally as well.
Most residents of Quatsino are employed in the forest, fishing, and ecotourism industries. Some professionals also live there and practice their professions via the internet. We invite you to explore this site and discover more about this very special community.
