Getting Around: Health and mobility on My Vancouver Island North

Aug 1, 2018 | Uncategorized

The Regional District of Mount Waddington: There is a misconception that rural health care has standards lower than urban centres. However, in the Regional District of Mount Waddington this isn’t true. What is true is that transportation becomes a more valid concern, but organizations like “Wheels for Wellness” and the Volunteer Transportation Network run by North Island Community Services Society allow people and patients opportunities for cost-effective and convenient travel. Between communities, B.C. Transit offers a commuter router daily, connecting the ferry from the island communities of Alert Bay and Sointula.
