To answer a change in employment status a couple entrepreneurs branched out on their own. Meet Jon Lok, a home-grown entrepreneur who sees the opportunity of the North Island and advocates for healthy communities and work on the North Island:

Jon co-founded Strategic in 2003. His career in forestry over the last 20 years comprises harvesting, operational planning and project management. Jon began his career with major forest industry companies such as Canadian Forest Products, TimberWest and Weyerhaeuser before taking on consulting roles. As Managing Partner, Jon is responsible for strategic planning, business development and serving as the “voice” of the organization. In addition, Jon is the current president of the Consulting Foresters of BC and past-president of the Association of BC Forest Professionals. Jon is a graduate of the British Columbia Institute of Technology Natural Resource Management Program.
